Honeymoon!!!

We spent the first 2 days of our honeymoon in Huntington Beach and then left on a cruise that Monday evening out of Long Beach. Our cruise took us first through Catalina Island then to Ensenada, Mexico. There were several fun activities that we were able to see and do on the cruise like, hairy chest contest, bingo, game of love, trivia games, mini golf, ping pong, comedy shows, etc. We returned from our cruise that Friday morning, then headed back to Utah.

We were married on Oct 9, 2010 in the San Diego temple. Our sealer, President Harris was a close friend of my family and we were happy that he was so willing to perform the ceremony for us. I received my endowment on Oct 8 in the Newport Beach temple and later that night all of us drove down to San Diego to spend the night. That night we had dinner at PF Changs and then spent the night at the Quality Inn. The next morning at 11 Callen and I were sealed. The sealing was amazing and President Harris did a wonderful job. There were lots of tears in the sealing room, especially from me and Cal, but not to worry they were tears of joy! :) After the sealing all of us headed back up to Brea where I am from, but first we stopped in Oceanside where we had our luncheon at a place called the Hunter Steakhouse. I am from Orange County (Brea), so that evening we had a reception in my hometown at my homeward church building. We had it in the courtyard area of the church and it turned out very beautifully. We were glad that both of our families were able to be there. On Oct 22, about 2 weeks after our sealing, we had another reception in Callen's hometown, Tropic, Utah. It turned out beautiful thanks to Callen's sisters, Lori and Arianne and his Mom, Shanna! :)

The Proposal!!!

The proposal was PERFECT!!! He picked me up from my apt on Sat, July 31st in the morning having some ice cream with him. We decided to drive over to a park called Nielsen's Grove to eat our ice cream. We walked around the flower garden at the park eating our ice cream when Callen starts making fun of me for eating so slowly. A few mintues later he shows me his ice cream and says, "Look when you get to the middle it's hollow inside...is yours like that?" I proceeded to take another spoonful of my ice cream when I see something nasty. I say, "Ew, there's something gross in my ice cream....ohhh it's a ring pop." Callen says, "So, you still wanna marry me?" I then say confused, "With a ring pop? Sure, why not...haha." Then Callen kneels down and pulls out a REAL ring out of his shirt pocket and says, "No, I'm serious...Will you marry me?" I was in shock and started shaking and almost started crying but held it together and said, "Of course!!!" I loved the way he proposed mostly because it was very similiar to how my Dad proposed to my Mom. My Dad put the ring in some ice cream as well, so I thought it was really special that Callen proposed to me in a similiar way.

Dating!!!

We met in May 2010 in an institute class at UVU. It was the first day of class and I was sitting in front of Callen. During class our teacher told us to introduce ourselves to someone in the class we didn't already know and that's when I met Callen. Right away I thought he was a hottie and seemed like a great guy. A couple of weeks later I was in class with 2 of my girlfriends and Callen walked in late and asked if he could sit next to me. I of course said yes and we chit chatted throughout class and at the end of class I was thinking of a way to get his number so I wrote him a note and invited him over to my place after class to watch a movie with me and the girls. Yes, I was VERY nervous. Callen loves to remind me of that day and how before I passed him the note, I was twiddling my thumbs with nervousness. haha :) Funny thing is that all during class Callen was also trying to figure out a way to get my number. So it all worked out. I just wanted to beat him to the punch. :)

He came to my place after institute along with one of his friends, Sean and we watched American Outlaws. The next evening (Wed) I got a call from Callen inviting me to go to a dollar movie with him and a few friends so I brought one of my friends, Amanda and we met Callen, Sean, and their friend, Tamra at the theater. The boys had to go to the bathroom so us girls went into the movie to save seats. I ended up sitting next to a stranger so that we had enough seats for all of us which caused Callen not to be able to sit next to me, which apparently he really wanted to. :) After we left the movie and because I hadn't really talked to Callen, he wasn't planning on calling me again. However, later that night I texted him and apologized for not being able to talk to him at the movies and that I had wanted to. Since I had texted him Callen decided to ask me on an official date, which we planned for that Saturday night.

Saturday night came and since Callen has his pilots license he took me on a plane ride. After the plane ride we went to dinner at the Pizza Factory, then to his condo to watch a movie. Definitely by far the best date I had ever been on. After that we dated for the next 3 months and then got engaged.
