It has definitely been way too long since we have updated our blog. We have had a ton of things going on and most of them are celebrations, so I'm excited to update you all.
Our new little niece, Dani Jo Blair was born at the end of September. She is very cute and we can't wait to meet her! My sister, Chelsea had some health issues about a month after Dani was born and had to be in the hospital for a few days. Thankfully she is getting better and we know it is because all of the prayers and fasting, so we thank all of you that have helped her in any way.
Callen and I celebrated our 1 yr anniversary this past October 9th and decided it would be appropriate to go on a cruise to celebrate since we went on one for our honeymoon. This time we decided to go on a 7 day cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Since the ship departed out of Long Beach, CA we were able to see and spend time with some of my family members. It was so great to spend time with them and to babysit 3 of our nieces on one of the days. Those girls love Callen, so they were all over him. :) Even when I was painting their fingernails and toenails, they wanted Callen to get his painted too, but of course he wouldn't let us. :) We left Long Beach on Sunday (the day of our anniversary) and that Tuesday we got to Cabo. The water was too shallow to pull the ship all the way in, so we had to take a tender to and from the shore. I wasn't a huge fan of those and the water taxis because there were a lot of waves in that area and I was paranoid that we were going to tip over into the water, just like our rafting experience in ID over the summer. lol Cabo is a very tourist area, so we had tons of people coming up to us wanting us to come into their shops or even take pictures with Iguana's, which scared the crap out of me. I am terrified of reptiles, so seeing those iguanas just freaked me out. haha :) We spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Cabo and Thursday we were supposed to spend time in Puerto Vallarta, but there was a hurricane. I was really bummed about that because I had heard Puerto Vallarta is an amazing place. Since we couldn't go there, we went to a place just north of Cabo called La Paz. La Paz is very different. The water was very pretty and calm which was very different from Cabo. It takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown from where the ship pulled in. When we were riding on the bus to downtown it was so weird because you look to the left side of the road and all you see is desert and then when you look to the right you see the ocean. You never see that, so it was very interesting. We found that the food is really cheap in La Paz, but everything else is expensive. For example, we forgot to bring Sunscreen on the cruise, so we were going to buy some in La Paz, until we saw they sell it for $15.00. How ridiculous is that when here in the states you can get some for $1.00. After that day in La Paz, the next 2 days were sea days on the ship and then we returned to Long Beach that Sunday.
That next Tuesday happened to be my birthday so we celebrated by going to dinner at The Olive Garden, which is one of my favorite restaurants and then Callen surprised me by taking me to his sister, Lori's house and they had dessert for me. :) It was very sweet, especially since I didn't expect them to do anything for me. It was a very nice birthday even though I did have to work. :/
For Halloween we went over to Callen's sister, Arianne's house and we took the kids trick or treating. I was surprised just how long those kids could stay out there for and how far they could walk. They are little troopers! :)
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we are excited to spend it with Callen's family in Saratoga Springs. We are still going to make and have our own Thanksgiving meal though...yes we still want to go all out even though it's just the 2 of us :) HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
